Penned by author Harmke Buursma, Rose Through Time: A Magical Bookshop Novel is a work of fiction in the fantasy, historical romance, and interpersonal drama subgenres. This enticing love story follows central protagonist Rose Hart from her modern life in the Southwest of the United States to another century. A discovery in her late grandmother’s belongings sends her on a fantastical journey to England hundreds of years in the past. Here the handsome John Easton takes her in as a guest. Thus Rose begins her wild adventure filled with colorful characters from the English countryside. Before Rose completes her journey, she must decide what is important to her.
Combining elements of contemporary romance with time travel and Regency-era drama, author Harmke Buursma has crafted a fantastic work of romantic fiction with plenty of thrills, chills, and historical touches to delight readers from cover to cover. The pacing of the story was perfect, and I admired the creation of the story world. I appreciated how the author, in true Regency fashion, ensured that intrigue infused every chapter. The well-written storyline observes the main character as she encounters the more sharp-edged rogues and discovers their motivations. Her heartfelt experiences are the core of the story. The dialogue was well-balanced between an older style of formalized English and a modern dialect, making it easy to understand from a contemporary perspective. Overall, I recommend Rose Through Time to fans of historical romance, time travel dramas, and readers of Regency fiction everywhere.

Rose Through Time
Perfect for fans of time-travel and enemies to lovers romance.
Still grieving, Rose Hart takes on the difficult task of packing up her grandmother’s home. There she stumbles upon a mysterious book with her late grandmother’s name which proves to be the first key in an unraveling mystery that leads her to a strange bookshop and catapults her from her modern day life in the Southwest of the U.S.A to a small town called Westbridge in Regency Era England.
Suddenly, Rose finds herself a stranger in a foreign time and place. A guest at the mercy of the handsome John Easton, the wealthy owner of the Hawthorne estate, and his sister Beth. She meets the scheming Mrs. Ashbrook and befriends John’s friend William, a troubled but charming military man just returned from the war in France. Rose finds herself living the life of adventure she always dreamed of filled with intrigue, danger, and perhaps love.
Just one question remains; will she stay or will she go?
"You have no right to mention my sister any longer or fake concern. Against my better judgment, I trusted you. I thought there was something between us worth exploring. You played me like a fool."
"What could you possibly say," he said, his face pale.
"Let me explain."
"No, this has gone on long enough," John said, pacing around the small room which, upon second thought, might just be a storage closet. "I want you gone. You are going to go to Hawthorne to pack your bags and then you are going to leave and not come back."
"Don't do this; I haven't done anything wrong," I pleaded. I grabbed John's bicep and stopped him in his tracks. John looked me straight in the eyes.
"I forbid you to talk to my sister. If she does see you, you will say nothing and fake an excuse. I'm sure you can lie one more time; it must come natural to you by now," he said, with a bite.

"I recommend Rose Through Time to fans of historical romance, time travel dramas, and readers of Regency fiction everywhere."
"A well written time travel yarn. Rose finds herself out of time and trying desperately to fit in. Some great well-drawn characters. It is also a classic romance story with more than a couple of twists. I would recommend it."
" If you’re a lover of, well, love mixed with adventure and set in different worlds, then it’s time you added this book to your to-be-read pile."
Carole Mondragon, author of The Irish Heirloom
"You know when you read a book and imagine yourself as the heroine? That's how we know it's a good story, right, when we find ourselves lost in its pages ..."
